Session Information

It is such a privilege to be trusted with the job of photographing someone’s newborn or baby.  Capturing those tiny toes and perfectly formed little features, and with babies their ever changing facial expressions and their growing ability to move about is quite simply a very special blessing!

It is important to me that your session is relaxed and enjoyable.  Especially with newborns, new mums may well be feeling a little fragile, and often your newborn shoot can be your first big journey out of the house.  This is why I schedule around three to four hours for the session, allowing ample time for cuddles, nappy changes, feeding and anything else your brand new little bundles wants to do, with hopefully a little bit of beautiful photography thrown in for good measure.  The studio is set up so that new mums can relax and put your feet up, look on, and enjoy a drink and a snack whilst I work. Many a daddy has been known to catch up on a wee bit of sleep on the sofa…you know who you are!!!

For older babies and toddlers I schedule up to two hours, giving them time to explore and become accustomed to me and their new environment.  I will chat and play with them on arrival, whilst you have a cuppa, so that they will hopefully relax nicely into the photo session itself!  Please don’t expect them to sit and smile beautifully for the whole session…they are children and would be very boring ones if they did so!!  Allow me to interact with them, forgive me for my silly noises, daft expressions and  crazy singing, and I am sure whatever their mood on arrival, I will have captured some beautiful moments by the end of the session.

If you can’t get messy on your First Birthday, when can you??  Birthday shoots can include a Cake Smash, and I can recommend suppliers if you are looking for something just a little bit more special for the big occasion!

For newborn shoots, it is best to get in touch around your 20 week scan, so that I can put aside time in my diary around your scheduled due date.  In order that I can offer the best customer service, I usually take a maximum of two photoshoots a week, so it is best to get in touch as soon as you know you want a shoot with me.
